Week 13 Update

Work Completed the Week of August 2:

The base course of asphalt pavement was placed on Tuesday on the south side of the roadway and lawn restoration work was mostly completed by the end of the week.  The asphalt paving company was on site Thursday to get a head start on paving the commercial driveways.  They were also on site Friday morning but unfortunately got rained out around 10:00 am.  They intend to be back on Monday morning (weather pending) to complete the remaining paving of the driveways on the south side of the roadway.

Traffic Advisory:

The Contractor has flipped the traffic control as of Saturday (8/7) morning which will allow the south side (paved portion) to open to EB traffic and the north side (WB traffic) closure is in effect.  WB traffic will be detoured around the work zone via the same detour route via Norton Avenue and Henry Street.  Work on the WB lanes should proceed much quicker than the EB lanes given the water main work is now fully complete.

Due to the paving contractor getting ‘rained out’ on Friday – they will be back on site Monday.  EB traffic may experience intermittent disruptions as the Contractor completes this work but flagging personnel will be on site to control traffic.

Work upcoming the Week of August 9:

The paving contractor will be on site Monday morning to finish paving the commercial driveways on the south side of the roadway.  The Contractor will have flag control and personnel in place to direct traffic during these operations.

The Contractor will begin pavement removals on the north side of the roadway and construct storm sewer the remainder of the week.
