Week 15 & 16 Updates

Work Completed Week of August 16 & August 23:

The Contractor has completed all of the underground utility work on the north side of the roadway.  This work consisted primarily of construction of new storm sewer and drainage structure installation.  Tree removals also took place to accommodate both underground utility work and the proposed 8-foot concrete sidewalks proposed on the north side of the roadway.

The Contractor began preparation work for the aggregate base course.  Working from Henry Street to the west towards Park Street, the Contractor graded the roadway and placed 10-inches of aggregate base course which will support the new roadway.   The last of the light pole foundations were also constructed.

Work Upcoming the Week of August 30:

The Contractor is anticipating the straight line concrete curb and gutter will be constructed on Friday, September 3.  We anticipate the concrete subcontractor will need to be back on site at least three (3) additional times to complete the driveway curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, and concrete pads.

Access will be maintained to all businesses by utilizing part width driveway construction.
