Week 7 Update

Work Completed the Week of June 21:

The Contractor (BEI) continued with water main installation.  The primary work focused on installing the connections across the WB lanes of traffic to accommodate new fire hydrants and connections to existing mains.  The work involved shifting traffic over into the EB lanes on temporary road surfaces to accommodate local traffic.

BEI’s subconsultant J Ranck Electric was also on site installing concrete foundations throughout the project limits in preparation of light pole installation which will occur much later in the project (due to material shortages).

Work Upcoming the Week of June 28:

BEI will pressure test the water main, chlorinate, and perform bacteriological sampling to ensure the water is adequate to make final connections to the existing water main and begin the process of connecting private service leads to the new water main.

While that testing is occurring, BEI will begin the process of excavating the roadway in preparation of concrete curb and gutter and surface restoration items.
